by Samsung will officially launch Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3 on August 11, on the occasion of Galaxy Unpacked 2021. We have recently presented a lot of information about the new foldable phones and today we find out concrete details about the prices at which they will be sold.
In Galaxy Unpacked 2021 we will see, beyond the new generations of Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 foldable phones, the new series of Galaxy Watch 4 smart watches and Galaxy Buds 2 headphones.
Evan Blass (@evleaks) presented on Twitter images showing the prices of Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3.
It seems that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 will have a starting price of 1,099 euros (256 GB), while its 512 GB storage could cost 1,149 euros. Galaxy Z Fold 3 could come with a price of 1,899 euros, and its top storage variant could cost 1,999 euros.
If this information is correct, Galaxy Z Flip 3 will be priced 350 euros lower than its predecessor.
Galaxy Z Fold 3, on the other hand, could cost 100 less than Galaxy Z Fold 2.
Moreover, the South Korean company is expected to come up with some excellent pre-order and buyback offers for its future foldable smartphones.
Water resistant, not dust resistant
Galaxy Z Flip 3 will have a more solid case and a more durable foldable display. It will also have a larger screen coverage, a faster processor, state-of-the-art software and higher loading speeds.

Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be thinner, will come with a faster processor, a selfie camera under the display, improved cameras and S Pen compatibility.
Max Weinbach states that Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3 will have an IPX8 rating. If this information is true, Samsung’s foldable smartphones may remain protected even when submerged in water (up to 1.5 m for 30 minutes). It is similar to the IP rating of the Galaxy S21 Ultra and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra smartphones.
However, foldable smartphones will not be dust resistant, which is understandable given the moving parts in the hinge.
Although Samsung has developed a brush-like mechanism that removes dust particles from the hinge area, it doesn’t seem to be enough to get a sufficient degree of protection from dust.
What we know for sure is that the new phones will be thinner, more compact and more durable. In addition to IP features, Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3 also have more durable UTG (Ultra Thin Glass) screen protector and less space between the two sides when folded.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 will be slightly thinner than the previous series, with a thickness of only 6.4 mm when the phone is open.
Galaxy Z Fold3 5G will have 128.1 x 158.2 x 6.4 mm when closed, thus maintaining the ergonomic shape brought by the previous generation.
